Thailand is widely known for its transsexual ladyboys or katoey as they are called in Thai. In contradiction to most Western countries, Thai society is fairly tolerant towards its transgendered citizens. Each year the Miss Tiffany's Universe beauty pageant is held in Pattaya named after the cabaret show hosting the event. Thirty contestants made it through elimination round to earn the chance of being crowned as the most beautiful ladyboy.
